Thanks

Thanks for hearing me out and providing some feedback on my thoughts on collaborative wikis. It was good to get some other views, as my ideas can get pie-in-the-sky without lots of data.

Hope GalAXy hut was fun!

I just got back from Yellowstone Park; one of the largest super volcanoes in the world. But surprisingly, this was not what impressed me. Thanks to Jim and our fantasic watershed class (ha, ha) it was the water system that really interested me. The water that the geysers spew out does not come from rivers or steems. It comes from snow and rain. This water seeps into the earth and then is heated by the magma under Yellowstone--a journy that takes a thousand years to complete. How cool or hot is that!

I love Yellowstone, we went there when I was in middle school and having huge buffalo cross the road in front of us was incredible.

How stable is that area? Is there ever any concern about something other than water spewing forth from Old Faithful?

Phil - your ideas for a large-scale discussion forum for science teachers is very interesting, and could be especially beneficial for those teaching in a situation where they do not have a 'team' in their school. Even those of us fortunate enough to be part of a strong curricular team could benefit from outside ideas.
